Barrett has been focused on helping organizations fulfill their mission while doing good for his entire career. His interest in social justice and the health of our oceans has led him to work with arts, environmental, healthcare, and technology organizations. Comfortable in both the corporate and non-profit sectors, Barrett brings a unique perspective to drive growth with an eye on the triple bottom line.
Barrett’s broad experience working with mission-based organizations began at a “big six” accounting firm in Chicago. Seeking greater work/life balance, he transitioned to his career as a management consultant and fundraiser. Prior to joining Council Fire, Barrett served in a variety of management and development-oriented positions including Development Director for The Eugene Symphony Association, Executive Director of the Arts and Business Council of Eugene, Director of Corporate and Foundation Support for Portland State University, and Executive Director of the Ashland Community Hospital Foundation.
