Finding Purpose through the Future Leaders Program
Our first Future Leaders Program (FLP) member, Jacob Rosenzweig-Stein, is shining brightly.
Council Fire is proud to see Jacob’s matriculation from an intern to a research analyst in our inaugural FLP cohort. “During my internship, I had the chance to see and talk about the projects coming up for Council Fire – now I am part of those projects! I’m excited to add my footprint to these projects that I researched as an intern into practice as a Future Leader,” said Jacob.
Jacob is a 2020 graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland where he studied environmental studies and philosophy. He is enthusiastic about sustainability and aspires to a project management position in the field. Proud to associate with initiatives that create environmental, social, and economic value for clients and the world, the young professional said, “Council Fire actively ‘walks the talk’ of sustainability, so to speak, when it comes to B Corp values and purpose-driven projects. This is the kind of work that I want to be part of!”
Rooted in a family that cares deeply about environmentalism and eco-friendly practices, the sustainability bug bit Jacob in college when he took an applied sustainability practicum class with a project on sustainable food systems. This was followed by an on-campus initiative to pioneer a free bike share program for students, which also became the topic for his senior thesis.
Jacob is thrilled to be the first entrant into the Future Leaders Program, where he appreciates the opportunity to bolster his resume and join a field that is challenging to enter. Through his participation in this program and his future plans to pursue an MBA, Jaco seeks to find purposeful work aligned with his interest in succinct science communications and sustainable solutions for holistic impact.
“Council Fire is opening my mind to leveraging business to solve social, economic, and environmental problems, which has given me a new way of thinking about the complex issues we face as a human collective and what leaders can do about it,” said the emerging changemaker.
