Announcing the Newest Member of the Council Fire Team: Loren Brunner
Council Fire is excited to announce the addition of Loren Brunner to the Council Fire team as an Impact Manager. Both Council Fire and our clients will benefit greatly from Loren’s extensive expertise in successfully
managing projects and budgets, executing marketing and business development strategies, and driving positive environmental, social, and economic impacts.
Loren comes to Council Fire from Geek Girl Tech where she was the Chief of Operations, Finance, and Impact. While there, Loren developed processes and policies for all aspects of the company overseeing human resources, finance, and marketing. She managed certifications including B Corp, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, and 1% for the Planet. She also managed client projects to help small businesses improve their cybersecurity posture. George Chmael II, Council Fire CEO said of Loren’s joining the team: “Loren’s experience working with diverse, impact-focused organizations with a global reach is the perfect fit for Council Fire. We couldn’t be more excited that she has chosen to join our team.”
Prior to joining Geek Girl Tech, and after her tenure with the Peace Corps in Madagascar, Loren served as the business development manager for the Asante Africa Foundation focusing on fundraising events, marketing campaigns, grant opportunities, and pipeline management. Through her extensive knowledge of Salesforce as a Salesforce Administrator, she built custom objects and workflows for program reporting and tracking.
At Council Fire, Loren will be working closely with both clients and our experts as an Impact Manager. Her strong interest and background in sustainability, managing operations, and integration with marketing efforts makes her uniquely qualified to guide a diverse array of Council Fire client projects. Loren commented on her new position: “Joining a B Corp with a strong focus on sustainability was a priority for me, and Council Fire is a terrific fit for my skills and their needs. The range of expertise represented by the Council Fire consultants gives me the opportunity to effect change and help drive sustainability for our clients in so many ways.”
A graduate of Global College of Long Island University, Brunner’s degree in Global Studies with an emphasis in Microfinance comes from the kind of hands-on experience few can claim. Studying across the world, Brunner spent time on nearly every continent as she gained the knowledge and skills necessary to lead in a globalized world through her immersive academic experience. Currently, she is pursuing her MBA in Sustainability to further enhance her expertise.
